Drupal 7: How to update the CleanTalk Anti-Spam Module

 

Automatic Update

  1. Make sure that "Update manager" is enabled: Drupal Admin Page —> Modules —> CORE —> tick "Update manager" —> Save configuration.
  2. Go to Modules —> UPDATE —> tick "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" —> Download these updates.
  3. Press "Continue" on the "Ready to update" page.
  4. Click the line "Run database updates" on the next page.
  5. Press "Continue" on the "Drupal database update" page.
  6. Press "Apply pending updates" on the next page if there are any.

Manual Update

  1. Make sure that "Update manager" is enabled: Drupal Admin Page —> Modules —> CORE —> tick "Update manager" —> Save configuration.
  2. Go to Modules —> LIST, find the OTHER section, remove the tick in the ENABLED column opposite the "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" name and press the button "Save configuration".
  3. Go to Modules —> UNINSTALL, choose "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" and press the button "Uninstall". Confirm it by pressing the button "Uninstall" again on the next page.
  4. Delete the folder "cleantalk" in "/sites/all/modules".
  5. Download the plugin archive from CleanTalk (the link is at the beginning of this page or use the link given to you personally), place it in "/modules".
  6. Go to Modules —> LIST and press the string "+ Install new module".
  7. Choose the downloaded CleanTalk archive in "/modules", then press the button "Install".
  8. After the process of installation press the line "Enable newly added modules".
  9. In the "OTHER" category find the "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" module, tick the checkbox in the ENABLED column and press the button "Save configuration".
  10. When you enable the module, the string "Configure" appears in the OPERATIONS column. Click it.
  11. Make sure that the access key matches the key from your CleanTalk Dashboard.
  12. (Optional) Test the protection by making a registration using the blacklisted e-mail stop_email@example.com.
