2FA: Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication for CleanTalk Dashboard
You can secure your CleanTalk Dashboard using the Google Authenticator App in addition to your CleanTalk password.
2FA: Two-Factor Authentication Installation
There are two ways of using the Google 2FA App:
1. Go to your CleanTalk Dashboard —> Profile Options: https://cleantalk.org/my/profile#profile_options
2. Scroll down to the special 2FA block and tick the checkbox:
3. Input your current password of your CleanTalk Dashboard. If you do not remember it, please use this guide: https://cleantalk.org/help/access-to-dashboard
You should see the QR-code and the manual activation code.
4. Install and run Google Authenticator for Android or iOS.
5. Press the "Begin" button:
6. Select "Scan a barcode". If you can't use your camera on your device then click the line "Enter a provided key".
7. Focus the camera on QR-code that you see on the step 3 of this guide. You should see the next screen on your mobile device with a new Authenticator record:
8. Go back to the step 3 and press the button "All done" on the https://cleantalk.org/my/profile#profile_options page.
9. Check if the 2FA checkbox is active:
7A. Enter your account name and the manual activation code you have taken on step 3 of this guide to the respective fields. Set the type to "Time Based".
8A. You should see the next screen on your mobile device with the new GA record.
9A. Turn back to the step 3 and press the button "All done" on the https://cleantalk.org/my/profile#profile_options page.
10A. Check if the 2FA checkbox is active:
1. Enter your CleanTalk Dashboard and go to your profile page https://cleantalk.org/my/profile#profile_options
2. Scroll down to special 2FA block and check the checkbox:
3. Enter your current password for CleanTalk Dashboard. If you do not remember it, please use the guide: https://cleantalk.org/help/access-to-dashboard You should see the QR-code and manual activation code.
4. Install the Google Authenticator extension for Google Chrome.
5. Press the extension button:
Perform the actions below, add your account name and the manual activation code from 3rd step to the "Secret" field :
6. Check if the GA record is successfully added:
7. Turn back to the 3rd step and press the button "All done" on the https://cleantalk.org/my/profile#profile_options page. Check if the 2FA checkbox is active:
9. 2FA is activated for your CleanTalk account.
2FA: Two-factor Authentication usage
You need to run the Google Authenticator app (or the Google Chrome extension) in the next cases:
- entering to your CleanTalk Dashboard for the first time after 2FA installing
- entering to your CleanTalk Dashboard from a new device
There are two ways to log in with Google 2FA:
1. Proceed to CleanTalk Dashboard login form https://cleantalk.org/my/session and enter your CleanTalk Dashboard password (not Google Authenticator code!)
2. The site will ask you for a Google Authenticator code.
You can find it in your Google Authenticator app.
3. Enter the code you see and press "Send". Please, note, a GA code lifetime is restricted. If you see the check error message, please try to enter a new GA code.
4. If the previous step performed successfully, you will be redirected to the main page of the CleanTalk Dashboard.
The Google Authenticator session lifetime lasts for 90 days for any unique device, when it expired you need to log in using Google Authenticator again. Please, note, erasing site cookies erases a GA session too.

2FA: How to Disable the Two-Factor Authentication
To disable 2FA perform the next steps:
1. Enter your CleanTalk Dashboard and go to your profile page https://cleantalk.org/my/profile#profile_options:
2. Scroll down to special 2FA block and uncheck the checkbox:
3. Enter your current password for CleanTalk Dashboard. If you do not remember it, please use the guide: https://cleantalk.org/help/access-to-dashboard
4. 2FA is disabled
